Getting Started
Visit trezor.io/start and download the official Trezor Suite for your desktop operating system. Connect your Trezor device with a USB cable to your PC once installed.
Before setup, verify the packaging is intact and holographic seals are untampered to ensure authenticity. If tampered, do not use and contact Trezor support immediately.
Install Firmware
Trezor devices ship without firmware installed. The Suite will guide you to securely install the latest firmware version on your device.
Simply click “Install firmware” and wait for the process to complete. Do not disconnect the device during the installation.
Wallet Creation
Once firmware is installed, choose “Create new wallet” if this is your first time setting up. Alternatively, select “Recover wallet” to restore access from an existing recovery seed.
The Suite will walk you through generating your recovery seed — a series of 24 words. Write these down carefully and keep them offline in a secure place.
This recovery phrase is the ONLY way to recover assets if the device is lost or damaged.
PIN Setup
Setup a PIN to protect your device from unauthorized physical access. Using the Suite interface, set your PIN by selecting digits on the grid, referencing the number positions displayed on your Trezor’s screen.
You will enter the chosen PIN twice, with randomized keypad layouts for security.
Coin Activation
After PIN setup, select which cryptocurrencies you want to manage in Trezor Suite. You can always modify this later under settings.
Activate assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and others you plan to use frequently.
Finalize & Access Suite
Confirm your active coins selections and click “Complete setup”. You will then access the wallet dashboard where you can send, receive, and manage your cryptocurrencies securely.
For enhanced personalization, rename your device or set a custom homescreen background (confirmed physically on your device).
With these steps complete, your Trezor wallet is ready and secured via Trezor Suite for daily crypto management.
